Norvin Dunagan

November 5, 1928 — January 15, 2018

Norvin L. Dunagan, 89 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Wedgewood Care Center, Grand Island, NE.



Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Stolley Park Church of Christ, Grand Island, with Pastor Dan Jaekel officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Stolley Park Church of Christ, Grand Island.



Norvin L. Dunagan was born November 5, 1928, in Albion, NE, the son of Lloyd and Anna (Woodworth) Dunagan. He grew up and received his education in Albion, graduating from Albion High School with the class of 1946. He entered the United States Army, October 19, 1948, receiving his honorable discharge December 8, 1949. He was in Active reserve for three years.



He was united in marriage to Charlene Schuneman, August 17, 1952, at Albion, NE. The couple made their home on a farm outside Chapman, NE. She preceded him in death, July 5, 1968. In 1972, he moved to Grand Island where he owned and operated Cornhusker Park Lot Cleaning until his retirement in 2000.



He was a member of Church of Christ. Norvin loved square dancing and was highly involved in a square dancing club.



Those left to cherish his memory include sons: Randy (Martha) Dunagan of Burnet, TX, Bradley (Mitzy) Dunagan of Blue Mountain, MS; daughter: Cherri (Stephen) Pitcock of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brother: Dee Dunagan of Grand Island.



He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Charlene; sisters: Helen Wolfe, Rita Wambaugh; and brother: Derald Dunagan.
