Omaha Douglas Knuth

OMAHA Douglas Knuth, 46, of Omaha died Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

Celebration of Life will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Doug was born June 14, 1967, grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island Senior High, later moving to Omaha. He received his Journeyman degree from Metropolitan Community College, and was working for Premier Electrical. Doug passed away after a brief battle with cancer. He was also a tissue/eye donor.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Knuth, and a nephew, Ryan Hitchler.

Survivors include his mother, Rita Smith; stepfather, LeRoy Smith; sister, Sheri (Rod) Hitchler; nephew, Alex Hitchler; loving fiance, Melissa Le; four children, Alicia, Tia, Tonya and Tristen; and three grandchildren.
