Ora Elizabeth Roth

Ora Roth, 84, of Grand Island, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, in her home. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Wood River Mennonite Church with pastor Matt Troyer-Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Ora Elizabeth Roth was born December 14, 1934, on a farm in rural Milford, NE, to Harry and Velma (Miller) Roth. In her youth, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church at Milford, NE. She has been a member of Wood River Mennonite Church since 1968. On June 21, 1957, Ora was united in marriage to Cloy Roth. Their 61 years of marriage were filled with working, traveling, raising a family and overflowed with love.

Ora loved her family and loved cooking and baking the best chocolate chip cookies for them. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, competing with her grandchildren at mini golf, and picking out matching outfits for herself and her loving husband. Ora loved to laugh and used her sense of humor in creating games for family get-togethers. She could also be relied on for relationship advice.

Ora is survived by her husband, Cloy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Crystal, Laurel and Deb, Al and Rhonda and Tony and Jodi Roth; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Janice (Gale) Oswald, Ila (Larry) Kremer, Roger (Nancy), Marietta, Lonnie, Carolyn Miller, Joe, Sharon (Roger) Lehman, and Leonard; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeanene Roth, Nettie Hiebert, Lonnie (Janice), Jerrel (Judy), Dave (Sue), and Phil (Connie); and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Deryl Roth; brother, Herb Roth; brothers-in-law, Lyle Roth and Larry Miller; and nieces, Casey Roth and Audrey Roth.
