Patricia Ann Widga

Patricia Ann Widga, 63 of Grand Island passed away after a courageous four year battle with cancer.



Mass of The Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Marys Cathedral, Grand Island with Father Richard Piontkowski officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be private at a later date in the Wolbach Cemetery.



Family will greet friends from 5-7 P.M. Friday at Apfel Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.



Patricia Ann Widga was born August 3, 1952 in Greeley, Nebraska the daughter of Howard & Rita (Smith) Jacobsen. She grew up in Grand Island and received her education from St. Marys Elementary School and Central Catholic High School graduating with the class of 1970.



She was united in marriage to Robert Widga, December 16, 1972 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in San Diego, California where Robert was serving in the Armed Forces. They later returned to Grand Island where she was employed by Pump & Pantry and later by Miracle Ear.



She was a member of St. Marys Cathedral. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, family game nights, crafts, traveling and shopping.



Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Widga of Grand Island, two sons, Kristopher Widga and Aaron (Jessica) Widga all of Grand Island, two daughters, Lisa Widga of Grand Island and Cynthea (Fernando) Alvidrez of Alda, NE, seven grandchildren, Tyler, Malachi, Georgia, Jeremiah, Cooper, Alexandra, Ian



She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sibling.
