Patty J. Poss, 59 of Benedict, Nebraska died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her home in Benedict.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Apfel Funeral Home, Grand Island with the Rev. Jim Garfield officiating. Visitation hours will be one hour prior to service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cameron Cemetery, Wood River, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Patty J. Poss was born, September 15, 1956 in Grand Island, NE the daughter of Virgil & Betty June (McClurkin) Friedricksen. She received her education in Giltner, Polk and Grand Island.

She was united in marriage to Donald Poss. The couple made their home in Scotia where Patty was employed by Greeley Care Home and later worked taking loving care of the elderly.

Patty enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, cooking and having family in for holiday gatherings. While in Scotia she welcomed several of her nieces and nephews into her home. Patty had a big heart in caring for others. Patty moved to Benedict where she sent the last years of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two brothers & sisters-in-law: Kenneth & Dolores Friedrichsen and David & Patty Friedricksen both of Grand Island, six sisters, Mary & Robert Pearson of St. Paul, NE, Sheila Kearns of Grand Island, NE, Shirley Walford of Grover, CO, Vera Morgan of Hastings, NE, Donna Friedricksen of Grand Island, numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lloyd & Tom Friedrichsen, two sisters, Peggy Wieck and Linda Long.
