Pauline was born September 20, 1920 in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and LeNora Christensen. Pauline graduated from Midland High School and the University of Nebraska. She married Alan H. Plantz and together they made their home on Mulberry Hill, their farm near Juniata, Nebraska. Together the couple raised two children, Bradley A. Plantz, PhD of Lincoln, Nebraska and Scott H. Plantz, MD of Treasure Island, Florida.
Pauline loved life, her children, working hard, helping others learn, and for those that knew her well, she loved a dish of ice cream right up until the day she died! For most of her life she taught school, served as the Adams County Home agent, and helped her husband build Hastings Seed and Supply Company. After Alan passed in 1996, Pauline continued to live on the family farm managing her own life until 2014, surviving many hard Nebraska winters and even a house fire. Despite many hardships and setbacks, she always kept a happy face and positive attitude.
Pauline was a dedicated wife and mother who gave her life to her children and she made sure they both had every opportunity to succeed. When her grandchild was born, Huntly Conway Plantz, no child could ask for a better or more committed grandmother. She loved each moment she spent with Huntly and even when her health begin to fade, up until her final days, she loved time playing and eating ice cream with her grandson.
Pauline was a devout Christian and member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Juniata Community Church.
