Pearl Joyce Steffen

Hastings resident, Pearl J. Joyce Steffen, 79 passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Pastor Herbert Scott officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the family. Pearl was born September 17, 1932 to Robert H. and Bertha (Hannah) Buettgenbach in Milford, NE. She married Herbert H. Steffen on September 9, 1948; he passed away April 3, 2001. She worked at Tempos in Hastings, NE, the Sr. Boutique in the craft department in Juniata, NE and Hastings, NE and the Lincoln School Lunch Program in Hastings, NE when it first started. She volunteered for the election ward 1 for many years in Hastings, NE and was a life time member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, Harvard, NE. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers in her garden, the birds in her backyard and her friends. She is survived by her five children and spouses, Deborah Kottwitz of Holstein, NE, Victoria Steffen, Diane Steffen and William Steffen and wife Brandy all of Hastings, NE and Rebecca Kimmer and husband Michael of Juniata, NE, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and one brother Max Buettgenbach and wife Virginia of Merced, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert, and infant daughter, one sister and four brothers.
