Peggy A. Morrow

Peggy A. Morrow, 87, of Grand Island died Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Azria Health – Broadwell in Grand Island.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday November21, 2023 at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.  Inurnment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.  There will be no visitation, Mrs. Morrow’s wish was to be cremated.  Memorials are suggested to the family.

Peggy Ann Morrow was born February 19, 1936, at Grand Island to Fred and Rena (Schindler) Elshire.  She received her education in the Grand Island Public Schools.

Peggy married Donald E. “Gene” Morrow on October 1, 1956, in Grand Island.  The couple lived in Omaha for 27 years and she worked for a time with Omaha Ribbons Production.  In 1986, they returned to Grand Island and Peggy worked in the cafeteria at Walnut Middle School.

She enjoyed playing cards and especially loved her husband and family and their special dog, Brandy.  For the past five years she enjoyed the company of her dog, Pee Wee.

Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, Fred and Shirley Morrow, Doug Morrow and Larry Morrow; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; two half-brothers, Jack and Gene Elshire; and sister, Patricia Redding.
