Phyllis Ann Ground

Phyllis A. Ground, 76, of Milford, formerly of Grand Island died Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Seward.



Private graveside services will take place on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Phyllis Ann (Darrah) Ground was born August 11, 1942, at Burwell, Nebraska to Lyle S. and Ellen W. (Meuret) Darrah.



Phyllis grew up in Burwell and Grand Island. She received her education in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Central Catholic in 1960. Following graduation, she continued her education, becoming a licensed cosmetician.



Phyllis managed a local hair salon in Grand Island. She later worked as an interior decorator for Bonnevilla Homes. She then became a home healthcare aid, working for Martin Luther Homes.



Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Carmey Ground of Hendersonville, TN, Cindy Wall of Raleigh, NC, and Bobbie Ground of Lincoln, NE; one son, William Ground of Hastings, NE; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Gene Darrah.
