Randall M. Hartmann, 67 of Grand Island, died Friday, May 11, 2018, of natural causes.
Funeral service will be 10:30 Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, with the Rev. Michael Reiners officiating. Inurnment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Hall County 4-H. Randall Marvin Hartmann was born April 2, 1951, in Grand Island Hospital, the son of Marvin & Elaine (Jorgensen) Hartmann. He grew up and received his education in Wood River, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1969. He later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Ag Business.
He lived in Lincoln and Grand Island and was employed by Farmers National Insurance. Randall was an avid supporter of 4-H. He was a member of Nebraska Water Leaders Academy and a LEAD Fellow of University of Nebraska.
Those left to cherish his memory include sons: Jacob (Anne) Hartmann of Shawnee, KS, Ben (Sarah) Hartmann of O’Neill, NE; daughter: Lindsey (Mark) Rentschler of Boulder, CO; 8 grandchildren; mother: Elaine Hartmann of Grand Island; brothers: Kent (Janet) Hartmann, Kirk (Cindy) Hartmann all of Wood River; and sister: Ronda (Roger) Wiegert of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his father: Marvin Hartmann; grandparents: Edward and Myrtle Hartmann, Thorwald and Mary Jorgensen; and granddaughter: Maisy Hartmann.
