Rebecca S. Struss

Rebecca “Becky” Susan Struss, 75, of Hastings, NE died on March 14, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society Perkins Pavilion in Hastings. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata with Pastor Darren Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:30 am until the services begin. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family.

Becky was born on July 27, 1948 in Hastings, NE to Paul and Geraldine (Cornelius) Struss. She grew up in Kenesaw, NE and received her education at Kenesaw Public Schools. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata.

She always enjoyed her gardening, being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Leading up to her retirement, Becky was an aquatic instructor for many years at the YMCA in Hastings. She made many lifelong friendships during her time there. For those who knew Becky would also know that she enjoyed a red beer, an occasional margarita, and slot machines. You could find numerous fanny-packs full of coins that she had stashed for her next trip to the casino or better known as “The Boats.”

She is survived by her children Eva (Randy) Schneider, Amy (John) Fischer, Dustin Struss, Maegan Blodgett; brothers Denny Struss, Rick Struss, Mike Struss; sisters Judy Hohlen, Heidi Hadenfeldt; grandchildren Brittany Adams, Broderick Rossow, Reiley Haight, Laikyn (Trey) Graf, Brenna Schneider, Brielle Schneider, Caden Adams, Tucker Adams, Dacia Struss, Jillian Struss; great-grandchildren Lucy Patterson, Crew Patterson, and Riggs Graf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers-in-law David Hadenfeldt, and James “Jim” Hohlen
