Former Kenesaw resident Renata W. Schukei, 94 passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 in Hays, KS. Services will be Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw, with Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 1 pm to 8 pm with the family present from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials established to the family. Renata was born June 12, 1919 to E.W. and Emma (Jacobitz) Aufdenkamp in Wanda township, NE. She attended the Zion-Wanda Parochial School and graduated from the Davenport High School in 1937. She married Arlie Schukei on August 17, 1941 at the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Davenport, NE, Arlie passed away July 20, 2000. Reneta was a former teacher for the rural districts Davenport area and was a secretary at the Holstein public school. She is survived by one son, Ivan (Nora) Schukei of Campbell, NE and one daughter, Diane (Jack) Kaufman of Hays, KS, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Schofield of Flint, MI, one sister-in-law, Lyndal Aufdenkamp of Rough and Ready, CA, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arlie, one brother, Dale Aufdenkamp, one sister, Marian Koinzan and two brother in laws, George Schofield and Richard Koinzan.
