Reva Florene was born May 23, 1932, at home on a farm near Trumbull, Nebraska, the daughter of Lloyd Frank Jason Marlatt, and Anna Christina (Sanders) Marlatt.
Reva graduated from Giltner High School in 1949, then went on to attend Kearney State Teacher’s College in January 1950. After receiving her teaching certificate Reva taught in rural schools in the Giltner area for several years.
Reva married Francis Eugene Dennhardt at the Giltner Methodist Church on May 6, 1951. After Fran’s discharge from the Army, they moved to Colorado, where they raised their children Barry, Denise, Neil, and Mark. Reva worked for IBM from 1966 until her retirement. Of the many Colorado houses that Reva and Fran lived in, their favorite was the log home they built and moved into in January 1970.
In 1993, Reva and Fran moved to an acreage in Missouri where they restored an old farmhouse and created an ornamental oriental garden. After months of doctor’s appointments and treatments, Fran died on August 9, 1997. Following the sale of the Missouri acreage, Reva moved back to Colorado.
Reva married Dahlas Dean Zlomke at the Church of Christ in Loveland, Colorado, on November 28, 1998. Reva and Dahlas lived in Loveland for a short time and then moved to Litchfield, Nebraska. They enjoyed camping, playing cards with friends, and participating in community clubs until Dahlas’ death on February 24, 2014. Shortly after Dahlas’ death, Reva moved to an apartment in the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings. Reva remained a part of the Good Samaritan Village community throughout the rest of her life.
Reva enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and spending time with and creating cards for her family and friends. As a vibrant woman of faith, Reva was active in churches in Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska. At the church in Litchfield, she held the office of Treasurer and helped write and edit the Church newsletter.
Reva lives on in the memory of her children from Colorado: Barry Dennhardt of Mead, Neil Dennhardt of Johnstown, and Mark (Ruth) Dennhardt of Longmont; and step-children from Nebraska: Jon (Linda) Zlomke of Hastings, Laurie (Greg) Swinney of Kearney, and Steve (Shirley) Zlomke of Hastings. Also cherished by Reva were her grandchildren: Kristi Mahan, Kelly Dennhardt, Allen Rabourn, Andy Bolda, Paul Dennhardt, David Dennhardt, Cody Dennhardt, Anna Dennhardt Grata; and step-grandchildren: Tim Zlomke, Melinda (Zlomke) Durham, Beth (Swinney) Bornhorst, Nathan Swinney, Phil Zlomke, and Susan (Zlomke) Newman. Reva was happy to welcome 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren to her family.
In addition to her parents and spouses, Reva was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Bolda; son-in-law, Bob Bolda; daughter-in-law, Debbie Dennhardt; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Lynn Dennhardt; sister, Joan (Marlatt) Heinzman; brother-in-law Wayne Heinzman; brother Curtis Marlatt and sister-in-law, Jeanette Marlatt.
