Reyes Manriquez

Reyes Manriquez, 74 of Grand Island died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home in Grand Island.

Mass of the Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. MarysCathedral, Grand Island with the Rev. Richard Piontkowski officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation hours will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Reyes Manriquez was born April 3, 1941 in Cd. Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Angel & Dolores (Gonzales) Manriquez. He grew up in Cd. Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico and received his education at Cd. Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico.

He was united in marriage to Moncerrate Galaviz, July 20, 1976 in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. The couple made their home in Mexico prior to moving to Grand Island, Nebraska.

Survivors include his wife, Monserrat Galaviz; four sons, Ariosto Manriquez of Grand Island, Joel Manriquez of Mexico; Marco A. Galaviz of Grand Island and Hugo Galaviz of Mexico; three daughters, Brenda Mariquez of Garden City, KS, Cristina Manriquez of Grand Island and Migdalia Manriquez of Grand Island; three brothers, Antonia Manriquez, Luis Manriquez and Guadalupe Manriquez; three sisters, Monse Manriquez, Dolores Manriquez and Rita Manriquez; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
