Hastings resident, Richard A. Dimler, 80 passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hasting-Village. Services will be Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church, Hastings, NE with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE with military rites. Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 12 noon to 9 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. A memorial will be established. Richard was born June 30, 1932 to Charles A. and Edith (Thompson) Dimler in Denver, CO. He graduated from the Denver South High School in June of 1950. He served in the United States Marine Corps, from June 23, 1950 to January 6, 1952 during the Korean Conflict, he received the Purple Heart. In 1952 he started working for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He married Geraldine Zellers on September 4, 1953 she passed away in April 3, 1993. They had lived in Denver, CO till 1960 moving to McCook, NE and later to Hastings, NE in 1964. He was a member of the Burlington Northern Retirement Club and the American Legion. He is survived by one son, Kenneth Dimler, and one daughter, Nancy Ferguson and husband Rick, and three grandchildren, Brendon, Lowell and Mikahla all of Hastings, NE, one brother Roy Dimler of Denver, CO and one son-in-law, Patrick Clark of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Geraldine, one daughter, Barbara Clark and one brother, Robert Dimler.
