Richard A. Epperly

Richard Allen Epperly, 83 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at CHI Health St. Francis, Grand Island.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Stolley Park Church of Christ. The family will greet friends & family from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Richard Allen Epperly was born December 22, 1933 in Minnepolis, Minnesota the son of Edward Samual Theodore & Alice Elizabeth (Bailey) Epperly. He received his education in Minneapolis, Minnesota graduating from high school in 1953.

He entered the United States Marine Corps in August 21, 1953 and served until August 20, 1956.

He was united in marriage to Julia M. Thatcher, May 10, 1957. The couple made their home in Grand Island, Creston, Iowa and Clovas Minnesota, where Richard was employed as a sales man for Barnes Distribution.

He was a member of Stolley Park church of Christ, Grand Island.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Julie Epperly of Grand Island, Nebraska, four sons & daughters-in-law, Corrie & Julie Epperly of Albany, OR, Mark & Doreen Epperly of Marquette, NE, Thomas & Pattie Epperly of Ironton, OH, Darin & Jan Epperly of Norfolk, NE, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brother, James & Marion Epperly of Minnetonka, MN

He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Robert S. Epperly.
