Richard "Dick" Wiles

Richard F. ‘Dick’ Wiles, 73, of Phillips died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Westfield Quality Care of Aurora.



Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Phillips Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Uldrich officiating. Interment will be at the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm on Sunday evening at the church in Phillips. Memorials are suggested to the Phillips Volunteer Fire Department and the Phillips United Methodist Church. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Richard ‘Dick’ Wiles was born on January 8, 1946 in Grand Island, NE, the son of Ralph and Virginia (Taggert) Wiles. He grew up in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1964. Dick was united in marriage to Sharon Regier on August 13, 1967 in Henderson. The couple made their home in Phillips where Dick worked at Bonnevilla Homes.

Dick enjoyed bowling, softball as well as all sports.



He is survived by two sons, Philip and Jennifer Wiles of Marquette and Kevin and Becky Wiles of Giltner, daughter Michelle and Shawn Mikkelsen of Aurora, eight grandchildren, his mother, Virginia Wiese of Hickman, brother Robert and Nadine Wiles, sister Diane Hardekopf, sister-in-law Betty Wiles and brother-in-law Dennis Hardekopf.



He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, his father Ralph, brother Ron, sister-in-law Betty Wiles and brother-in-law Dennis Hardekoph.
