Richard M. Lempke

Richard Dick M. Lempke, 61 of Grand Island, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island.



Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, Nebraska. Father Sid Bruggeman will be officiating. Visitation hours will be from 10:00 A.M. 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.



Dick was born on September 25, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska the son of Norman and Alice (Tuma) Lempke. He lived in Lincoln, Omaha, and Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1964. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, ORP International AM Radio Relay League, Grand Island AM Radio Society, and Sons of the American Legion. He worked for Top Hat TV as a television repair man. He also worked for G & E Vending, GI Music, and Schierling Arcade and Video Games. He was a Ham Radio Operator Amateur Radio ARRL.



Survivors include his aunts, cousins, numerous friends and neighbors, and his pet turtle.



Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
