Robert Breetzke

Hastings resident, Robert Breetzke, 94, passed away January 4, 2020 at Mary Lanning HealthCare.



Memorial service of remembrance for Angela and Robert Breetzke, will be 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Sheperd, Hastings with Pastor Steven Peeler officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Sheperd or the Hastings YMCA. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Robert was born August 20, 1925 in Beemer, Nebraska to Harry and Gertrude (Stoetzel) Breetzke. He graduated from West Point Public School. Robert served in the United States Navy, from November 27, 1943 to April 13, 1946. He married Angela Ulrich on June 18, 1951; she preceded him in death on September 21, 2010. He worked as a store assistant manager at Hinky Dinky in Seward and Fremont, Nebraska.



He enjoyed golfing, swimming at the YMCA, and sports. He loved desserts. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.



He is survived by one son, David (Ann) Breetzke of Lincoln, one daughter Mary (Brad) Augustin of Kenesaw; 4 grandchildren; Eric (Christa) Augustin, Trevor Augustin, Natalie Augustin, Michael (Sara) Breetzke; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister in law Blanche Ulrich of Clovis California.



Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Angela, and 1 brother Harold Breetzke.
