Robert J. Theiler

Hastings resident, Robert J. Theiler Sr, left this world peacefully on September 23, 2014.

Rosary will be Friday, September 26, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseland, NE with Father Joseph Walsh officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4 pm up till rosary time at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery, Roseland.

Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover, Hastings, St. Francis Cancer Center, Grand Island, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Roseland or St. Cecilias Catholic Church, Hastings.

On January 23, 1934 Robert Theiler Sr. was the first born to parents John Theiler and Lucille (Madison) Theiler at his grandmothers house in Paxton, NE.

Throughout his school years at District 234 and St. Pats he helped on the family farm. After finishing school he farmed with his father until 1961. Robert worked at the NE State Farm for a year before he began driving semi-trucks. In 1967 Robert married Shirley (Baumgartner Campbell) Theiler. After his marriage, Robert moved with his bride and family to Roseland and drove cross country for the Roseland Co-op from which he retired in 1996.

Robert is survived by his wife Shirley Mae, children Mary Ann (Randy) Campbell and Robert J. (Donita) Theiler Jr., step-children David (Jane) Campbell, Cynthia (John) Parr, Michael (Katrina) Campbell, Linda (Joe) Hurd. He had 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, brothers Larry Theiler and Richard Theiler.
