Robert L. Felzien

Hastings resident, Robert L. Felzien, 78, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at his home, 933 Ronan Drive. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Elks County Club in Hastings, NE. There will be no visitation the body was cremated. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Felzien was born February 7, 1928 to Walter and Laura (Nelson) Felzien in Hastings, NE. He served his country in the US Marines from January 18, 1951 to January 17, 1954 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard during the Korean Conflict. On February 12, 1955 he married Willa Mae Bockus in Escondido, CA. They were married 45 years. He was a life long farmer in Adams County, farming near Wanda township and Heartwell. He was a past president of Lochland Country Club in 1982; he was past board president of the Coop Elevator Board in Holstien, NE and a member of Eagles Aerie 592 of Hastings, NE. He enjoyed playing pitch with his friends. He is survived by daughter, Julie Felzien of Lincoln, NE, 2 sons, Mitch, of Thief River Falls, MN, and Russ of Hastings, NE, 3 grandchildren, and his ex wife, Willa. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Merle. Memorials may be sent to your favorite charity in the name of Robert L. Felzien.
