Ronald J. Mchugh

Ronald J. McHugh, 73, of Grand Island went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 18, 2021.



Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Apfel Funeral Home – Grand Island. The Rev. Gene Arnold will officiate. Face masks will be required, and social distancing will be practiced. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.



Ronald James McHugh was born May 6, 1947, at Grand Island to Amil & Sarah (Walker) McHugh. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High. In 1966 he married his high-school sweetheart, Annalee Cole. They were married for 27 years and blessed with 5 children and 9 grandchildren. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him and he made sure each one of them knew just how much he loved them. He will be remembered for his faith in God, quick wit, laughter & generosity.



Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Jackson “Jake” (Tracy) McHugh of Lincoln, Amy (Chad) Conklin of Grand Island, Miranda (Todd) Ashcroft of Vienna, WV and Jaden McHugh of Lincoln, his 9 grandchildren, and his siblings: Barbara Stevenson of Grand Island, Marilyn (Merle) Schulz of Sterling, CO, Patricia (Bob) Fischer of Raytown, MO, and Richard (Shelley) McHugh of Chesapeake, VA.



He is preceded in death by his parents, son Joshua McHugh, sisters, Vivian Toben & Sharon McHugh and an infant brother, James McHugh.
