Rosella Marie Hogle

Rosella Marie Hogle, 92, of Wood River, NE passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Wood River with Pastor Don Pobanz officiating. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, March 5th at Grace Lutheran Church. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

She was born on July 1, 1931 on the farm in Merrick county to Willie Frederich and Elvera Hazel (Bader) Peters. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms, NE. She grew up on the family farm and attended District 42 and Zion Lutheran School in Worms. 

She married Dale L. Wetzel on October 8, 1952 and to this union six children were born. On November 12, 1971, she married Edwin Hogle at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. They moved to Wood River in January of 1972. Edwin Hogle died June 8, 1992.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker, mother and loved to paint, make craft work, being outdoors and working with flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally Jackson, Theresa Wetzel, Deirdre (Gordon) Desel, Nancy (Dick) Acker, and Sarilee (John) Harvey; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters; sister, Bonnie James of Elkhorn, NE; brothers, Marvin Peters, Billie Jr. (Anita) Peters, and Larry (Joey) Peters all of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Sylvia Peters; brother-in-law, Albert (Maureen) Moeller; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Timothy Wetzel; sister, Laverna Moeller; brothers, Ralph and Roy Peters; brother-in-law, Don James; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Peters and Marlene Peters; niece Marcia Moeller; and her nephew, Douglas Moeller.
