Hastings resident, Rosemary G. Roth, 89 years old, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 in Wheaton, IL. Rosary will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 7:30 at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Book signing will be Friday, April 29, 2011 from 9 AM to 4:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Rosemary was born May 21, 1921 to Felix G. And Marie (Fischer) DeBacker in St. Mary's, Kansas. She was one of nine children. She graduated from the Hastings High School in 1939. She married Edward W. Felps of Shelton, NE in October of 1941; they had three daughters, Linda, Stephanie and Marsha. Edward passed away in July of 1953. She remarried Donald J. Roth of Hastings, NE on November 16, 1968; he passed away February 18, 2009. She worked as a dental assistant and doctors receptionist at the Hastings Regional Center for many years retiring in 1970. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church, and held an office's in the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters, all in Hastings, NE throughout her life. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Heidemann and husband Howard of Port Huron, MI, Stephanie Newman and husband Terence of Carefree, AZ and Marsha Nihill and husband John of Wheaton, IL. Two brothers, Edward DeBacker of Concord, CA and A.L ( Mick) DeBacker and wife Sharon of Hastings, NE; and a sister, Sheila Hobrock and husband Marvin of Lincoln, NE; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister and both husbands, Edward and Donald. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Retired Dominican Sisters, a favorite charity of Rosemary's.
