Rosemond "Rose" Evangeline Boltz

Rosemond Rose Evangeline Boltz, 98 of Grand Island, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in the Gollaher Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church, Grand Island with the Pastor Russell Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation hours will be 4-7 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2015 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Rosemond Rose Evangeline Boltz was born September 22, 1916 in Howard County, Nebraska the daughter of Otto Emil & Hortense Elida (Johnson) Dahlke. She grew up in Howard County and received her education in Cairo & Howard County rural schools.

She was united in marriage to Vern Boltz, December 6, 1933 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she was employed by Bass Glove Company, Cornhusker Ordinance Plant and Greenbergers for 22 years retiring in 1985. Mr. Boltz preceded her in death November 19, 1973. She was united in marriage to Elmer Boltz in 1985 in Doniphan, NE. Mr. Boltz preceded her in death on July 2, 2008.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Platt Duetsche Society and Eagles Auxiliary.

She enjoyed dancing, reading, playing cards at the Grand Generation Center and bingo.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters & sons-in-law, Verna Mae & Darrell Anderson of Grand Island, Gloria Jean & Merle McGoun) of Wood River, Nebraska, Karen L. Anderson of Aurora, Nebraska; one son & daughter-in-law, Derald Lee & Billie Boltz of St. Joe Missouri; half brother, Ray B. Dahlke of Grand Island; step children, Kay & Wayne Bockman of Grand Island, Donna Roach of Doniphan and Gary & Connie Boltz of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; great step grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Vern & Elmer Boltz; one grandchild, Anthony Boltz Sr.; two sisters, Dorthea Dahlke & Helen White; three brothers, Gordon, Melvin and William.
