Rural Trumbull resident, Rotha A. (Alderman) Keuten, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, NE. Services will be Friday, September 14, 2012, at 10:30 am the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE with Rev. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings; NE. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 9 am to 9 pm with the family present from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE. Rotha was born February 24, 1928 to Orville and Jennie Pearl (Cockrill) Alderman in Table Rock, NE. She was the eldest daughter. On July 14, 1949 she married Joel Raymond Keuten in Crete, NE he passed away March 16, 2003. She loved outdoor activities and the farm life. She restored antique buggys and wagons and used her carpentry skills building the house she lived in and for others through the Habitat for Humanity program. For 20 years she entered cornhusking events and has numerous trophies and awards for her skill. She is survived by two daughters, Joleen Ekstein of Bennet, NE, and Joyce Brannan of Hastings, NE, one son Dean Keuten of Golden, CO, two sisters, Joan Hyde of Cheyenne, WY, and Carleen Roebke of Pawnee City, NE, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joel, and one sister Norma Gail Heath.
