Ruth G. Reichstein

Hastings resident, Ruth Gertrude (Beitler) Reichstein, 93 passed away, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings. There will be no visitation. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to Trumbull Methodist Church, Trumbull, NE.

Ruth was born February 5, 1923 in Webster County to Clay and Ella (Vorhees) Beitler. She graduated from the Cowles High School in 1941. She taught school for Webster County Schools until 1946. She married Douglas Sweede Tressler Reichstein on December 22, 1946. They had one child George Michael Mick Reichstein. Ruth later taught school in Giltner and Trumbull, NE. She was the past postmaster of Trumbull and later worked as an accountant for the Trumbull Coop. She later moved to the Villa at Good Samaritan Society in Hastings.

Ruth was a member of the Cowles Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to the Trumbull Methodist Church.

She enjoyed teaching, her home life, flowers and helping others.

She is survived by her sister Helen Graham of Juniata, two brothers, Richard of Hastings and Evan of Trumbull, one daughter in law, Pam Reichstein of Trumbull and one grandson, Chad (Sarah) and three great grandsons, Garrett, Connor and Jacob, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas, her son, Mick, one grandson and two brothers, Henry and David.
