Sadie F. Linden

Sadie F. Linden, 97 of Grand Island formerly of Litchfield, went home to be with her heavenly father, surrounded by her family, Monday December 5, 2016 at CHI Health, St. Francis, Grand Island. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Litchfield Cemetery. Visitation hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Sadie F. Linden was born, August 22, 1919 in rural Custer County the daughter of Galen & Lucy (Dennis) Ward. She grew up in Custer County, receiving her education in the country schools in Custer County. She was united in marriage to Alva Linden, April 12, 1938 at Kearney, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Buffalo County later moving to Grand Island in 1972, where she was employed at Delicious Food for 16 years. She enjoyed reading, spending time in her garden raising flowers, embroidering and sewing.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters & son-in-law, Darlene & Rick Rodenbaugh of Grand Island, Wilma Trotter of Grand Island, LaVonne & Lonnie Cords of Grand Island three sons & daughters-in-law, Delbert & Linda Linden of Marquette, Asher & Irene Linden of Broken Bow Stanley & Darlene Linden of Cairo. 17 Grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Geraldine) Ward and sister in law, Elaine Wards. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alva Linden; sons in law, Claire and Bobbie; and granddaughter, Debbie.
