Sally R. Jackson, 71, of Wood River, NE died on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, NE surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be 11 AM on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Wood River, NE with Pastor Don Pobanz officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, online condolences may be left at www.apfelfuneralhome.com.

Sally was born on May 16, 1953, in Grand Island, NE to Dale Wetzel and Rosella Hogle. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High. Sally was united in marriage to Jim Jackson and from this marriage two children were born: a son, Dana and a daughter, Holly. She was employed by multiple businesses as a bookkeeper for many years leading up to her retirement.

She was a very active member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She served as the Secretary Treasurer for 20 plus years, sat on the Finance Committee, and was a Ladies Aid. Sally could always be found in her yard tending to her numerous flowers or putting together puzzles in her free time. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them in all their endeavors.

Sally is survived by her son, Dana Jackson; daughter Holly (Nate) Pierson; 10 grandchildren: Gavin Jackson, Cameron (Emma Sundberg) Petzoldt, Jaxon (Jaiden Schofield) Parlin, Keagan Jackson, Brennon Pierson, Jacob Jackson, Emmalyn Pierson, Anabelle Pierson, Ruby, and Ophelia Jackson; four sisters: Theresa Wetzel, Dee (Gordon) Desel, Nancy (Dick) Acker, and Sari (John) Harvey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Timothy Wetzel; grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
