Samuel M. Forney

Harvard resident, Samuel M. Forney III, 65, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his home.



Services will be Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:30pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 from 10-2:30PM at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Burial will be at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be determined at a later date.



Samuel was born April 9, 1953 to Samuel Mishler II and Mildred Marie (Skillman) Forney in Fremont, NE. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1971, then obtained his bachelor’s degree. He worked as a machine operator at UTC Aerospace Systems in York, NE until the time of his death.



He was a member of the Gold Miners Association of America. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, golfing and bowling.



He is survived by his children, Michelle (Ron) Martin of Harvard and Brad Forney of Clay Center, 7 siblings, 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family.



He was preceded in death by his parents.
