Sharon A. Larson

Sharon A. Larson, 68, of St. Libory died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Derek Apfel will officiate. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.

Sharon Ann (Hamann) Larson was born on September 11, 1946 in New Ulm, MN, the oldest of 3 children born to Mary (Meyer) Hamann.

As a young girl, Sharon and her parents moved every 3 months for her Fathers work to places like Las Vegas, NV, Gallup, NM, just outside of Walawala, WA, Oregon, Wyoming & California. They always went to cooler states in the summer and warmer states in the winter.

Sharon spent much of her childhood in Mendota, IL where she was baptized in the St. Johns Lutheran Church. She moved to the Winner, SD area in 1961 along with her Mother and brother John. Sharon graduated from the Winner High School in May 1964.

Sharon married Terry Lynn Larson on August 16, 1964 in Winner, SD and to this union 3 children were born: Tony, Tim & Troy. The family lived in Milboro, SD & Brewster, NE before coming back to Springview, NE where they stayed for more than 10 years. They later moved to the Ainsworth & Long Pine, NE areas where they lived until their children were grown. Next they moved to the Doniphan, NE, Grand Island, NE and finally to St. Libory.

She worked in the restaurant industry much of the time her children were growing up, in a warehouse for a large distributor, and as a secretary for a local business for over 10 years. She liked to take care of her house, grow some beautiful flowers, take pictures and stay in touch with all her family but especially her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband Terry of St Libory, Mother Mary (Meyer) Hamann and brother John Hamann of Gregory, SD, children Tony & wife Carmen Larson of St Libory, NE, Tim Larson of St Paul, NE and Troy Larson of Long Pine, NE. Grandchildren Tiffany and husband Andrew Kilgore of Sapulpa, OK, Garrett Forgey & Trevor Larson of St Libory, NE, Sean Larson of Ord, NE and Gavin Larson of Long Pine, NE and 1 great grandson Braxton Larson of Ord, NE as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
