Sharon “Kay” Kostman, 75 of Wood River, died, Monday, November 26, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River.
Memorial services will be Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 am, at First Presbyterian Church in Wood River with the Rev. Brad Jepsen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Wood River Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.
Sharon “Kay” Kostman was born August 4, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of John F. & Wilda R. (Kelly) Dobbberstein. She grew up in Wood River area, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1960. She graduated from Grand Island Beauty School and later owned & operated Kay’s Beauty Shop in Wood River and Shelton for 22 years.
She was united in marriage to Glenn A. Kostman, the couple made their home on a farm north of Gibbon for 15 years.
Kay enjoyed reading, painting pictures, singing, horses, and volunteering.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter & son-in-law, Barbara Vierk and fiance Mark Miigerl of Litchfield, NE, two sons & daughters-in-law, Steven G. & Melinda Kostman of Wood River, NE, John M. & Cherryl Kostman of Littleton, Colorado, six grandchildren, Elyse and Gio Granda and their daughter Gianna, Amber and Daniel Koch and their son Abram, Cecily Johnson, Jarrett Johnson, Jordyn and William Morris, and Kyle Deichen. Two sisters, Joyce Packer of Wood River, Connie J. Davenport of Casa Grande, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
