Sharon Ruth Wiles

Sharon R. Wiles, 72 of Phillips died Saturday, July 7, 2018 at CHI St. Francis in Grand Island.



Services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Phillips United Methodist Church in Phillips with Rev. Michelle Reed officiating. Interment will be at the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday evening at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Phillips Methodist Church or the Humane Society. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Sharon R. Wiles was born on November 14, 1945 in York, Nebraska, the daughter of Ruben and Agnes (Goertzen) Regier. She grew up in Henderson, attending Henderson Public Schools and graduated from Nebraska Christian High School in Central City in 1965. Sharon then went to Grand Island Business School from 1965 to 1967.



Sharon was united in marriage to Richard Wiles on August 13, 1967 in Henderson. The couple made their home in Phillips and Sharon worked at St. Francis Hospital in the laundry department.



Sharon was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting hook rugs, reading and doing puzzles. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family.



Sharon is survived by her husband Richard of Phillips, two sons, Philip (Jennifer) Wiles of Phillips and Kevin (Becky) Wiles of Giltner, daughter Michelle (Shawn) Mikkelsen of Aurora, six grandchildren, two brothers, Lester (Diane) Regier of Marquette, and Vernon (Deb) Regier of Henderson.



Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Agnes.
