Hastings resident, Shirley A. Mitchell, 69, of 415 Ringland Road, died, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at her home. Services will be Friday, July 13, 2007 at 10 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. with the Rev. Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service and one hour prior to services at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mrs. Mitchell was born, December 26, 1937 to Victor J. and Adella (Komrofske) LaPorte in Hastings, NE. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1955.She married, William Mitchell on December 24, 1954, in Hastings, NE. She was employed at Pastime Lanes from 1979 -1987, retiring as manager.. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She was very active in the Hastings Womans Bowling Assoc. and was the first woman in Hastings to bowl a 300 game. She also volunteered for the Red Cross. She is survived by her husband William of Hastings, 1 daughter, Kathy Graves and husband Todd, of Wellington, KS, 2 sons, Bill Jr and Char and Greg and wife Georgia, all of Hastings. 3 Granddaughters, 2 Grandsons, and 4 Great Grandchildren. 1 sister, Beverly J. Dedrick of Hastings, NE, 4 brothers, Richard of Plainville, KS, Robert of Hinckley, IL, James and David of Hastings, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE.
