Stanley L. Duester

Stanley L. Duester, 73, of Boelus, Nebraska died Friday, September 16, 2016, at Tiffany Square Care Center, Grand Island.



Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 20th at the Boelus Community Center in Boelus, with the Rev. Robert Carlson officiating. Cremation will take place following the funeral services.



Visitation hours will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, September 19th at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the familys choice.



Stanley L. Duester was born July 22, 1943, at Wolbach, Nebraska the son of Vincent and Agnes (Wieczorek) Duester. He grew up and received his education in the rural schools near Ravenna.



He was united in marriage to Linda Mahurin on July 31, 1964, at Wood River, Nebraska. The couple lived in Bassett, NE, Glen Elder, KS, Juniata and Boelus, NE. Stanley worked in the construction business until he founded Duester Dirt Contracting in 1972. He also farmed near Boelus.



Stanley was known as a hard working, honest man who loved his family, his work and his farm. He especially enjoyed the Big Joe and Mollie B polka shows.



He is survived by his wife, Linda Duester of Boelus; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Crystal Duester of Kearney; his daughter, Misty Cestarich of Boelus; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Walt and Betty Duester of Rockville and Dan Duester of Rockville; a sister, Dorothy Waltman of Omaha; six grandchildren and spouses, Brett and Brenna Duester, Abbie and Sgt. Diego Henry Castaneda, Charlie Krieder, Melina Krieder, Sonia Krieder and Shania Cestarich; four great-grandchildren, Graham and Holden Duester, and Rowan and Elias Castaneda; numerous nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Delbert and Irene Mahurin; two infant siblings; and one grandchild.
