Stephen Kenneth Hostetler, 45, of Boelus, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Wood River Mennonite Church with the Rev. Matt Troyer-Miller officiating. Private family inurnment of cremains will be at a later date.
Family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Wood River Mennonite Church, Wood River. Memorials are suggested to Wood River Mennonite Church or the Centura FFA.
Stephen Kenneth Hostetler was born October 27, 1972, in Grand Island, Nebraska the son of Arlan & Judy (Mitchell) Hostetler. He was raised on the family farm near Boelus, Nebraska. He received his education from Centura High School, graduating with the class of 1991, where he was a member of the FFA, on the football and wrestling teams, and involved in band and vocal music. He attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he received his Bachelors Degree 1995. He returned to the family farm where he lived and farmed until his death. He also worked in agronomy at Aurora Cooperative.
He was an active, life-long member of the Wood River Mennonite Church. Stephen enjoyed sports, music and farming as well as spending time with his family. He was a fan of Nebraska football and Indiana Basketball.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Arlan & Judy Hostetler of Boelus, brothers & sisters-in-law, David & Lori Hostetler of Carrollton, TX, Michael & Gina Hostetler of Omaha, a niece, Leah and nephew, Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
