Susan "Sue" Leigh Cross

October 5, 1949 — June 27, 2017

Susan L. Sue Cross, 67 of Phillips, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at her home.



Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Pastor Gene Arnold will be officiating. Burial of Ashes will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Grand Island City Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Friday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers.



Sue was born on October 5, 1949 in Deadwood, South Dakota to Dale and Edna (Wirstlin) Williams. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Lonnie Cross on May 17, 1987 in Grand Island. The couple lived in Phillips, Nebraska. She was employed by Abundant Life Christian Center in Grand Island for over 30 years.



Sue enjoyed painting, calligraphy, graphic designing, along with gardening and tending to her flowers. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her nieces and nephews, as well as her family!



Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lonnie Cross; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Tea Williams of Jacksonville, Florida; Steve and Schona Williams of Phillips, Robert and Ruth Williams of Marion, Iowa, Randy and Cristi Williams of Grand Island; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Craig Ralston of Nikiski Alaska and Barb and Ron Matousek of Omaha; step-sons, Scott Cross and Aaron Cross, both of Clarksville, TN; step-daughter, Angela Cross of Thailand.



Sue was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Moore; and mother-in-law, Betty Bartlett.
