Long time, Hastings resident, Thelma R. Fidler, 86, passed away, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the North Platte Care Centre, North Platte, NE. A memorial service will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 4:30 PM at the North Platte Care Centre, North Platte, NE with Chaplin Lloyd Speicher officiating. Graveside services will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 3:30 PM at Parkview Cemetery with Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Book signing will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to www.brandwilson.com. Condolences may also be sent to the family at 720 Sioux Lane, North Platte, NE 69101. Thelma was born November 16, 1924, the only child of Everett L. and Emma E. (Schuster) Wright at Prosser, NE. She attended school in Doniphan and graduated from Hastings High School in 1942. She married Paul J. Fidler on June 4, 1945 at Norton, Kansas. She then worked at the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, War Production Board in Omaha, Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation and was part owner of Fidler Plumbing and Heating in Hastings. Thelma served on the Board of the Adams County Historical Society and was very involved in maintaining the history of Hastings and Adams County. She was also a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She loved family history and did extensive genealogy. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul J. Fidler, son Craig A. Fidler and wife Lela , grandson Everett L. Fidler and wife Jeannie and great grandchildren Rachel and Evan Fidler all of North Platte, Ne.
