Timmy Wroot

Timmy E. Wroot, 68, of North Platte, NE passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings with Pastor Paul Knott officiating. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Tim was born to Eugene W. and Marie Jane (Batterman) Wroot on June 4, 1954, in Hastings, NE. He lived in North Little Rock, AR as a child, moving with the family back to Nebraska, living in Harvard, then in North Platte where he graduated high school in 1972.

Tim attended North Platte Community College, then the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1977 with a degree in criminal justice.

Tim married Kimberly J. Kapfer in June of 1982 in Omaha, NE where they were to make their home. Two sons were born to this union.

Tim worked in various managerial positions in food manufacturing, as well as positions in security for hospital systems, and writing of security manuals. An automobile accident in 2005 left him disabled and with many health issues. He moved his family to North Platte in 2006.

Tim was a member of Christ Community Church in Omaha, where he served as an usher for many years. Tim was a life member of the NRA. He also helped with various community service projects through the Freemasons and was a life member of York Rite and the Shriners.

He enjoyed golfing and loved watching football.

Tim was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Kimberly Wroot, and his two sons Mike Wroot and David Wroot of North Platte; his sister Nita (Jim) Miller, and his brother John (Kathy) Wroot all of North Platte, NE; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
