Tom G. Wyatt

Tom Wyatt, 60 of Grand Island passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 10, 2017 at his residence after a valiant 2 year fight with cancer. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 4 until 8 PM at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.

Thomas G. Tom Wyatt was born June 27, 1956 to Glenn and Mavis (Taylor) Wyatt at Topeka, KS. He grew up helping his dad taking care of the farm in Kansas and graduated from Aurora High School. Tom was united in marriage to Paula Sorensen on April 21, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV; after which, the couple resided in Grand Island where he was employed by Case/New Holland for 39 years. Tom enjoyed being on the lake fishing and boating. He loved spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren grow. Tom loved to share his knowledge of life with those willing to listen. Tom will always be remembered as a kind and caring person who would give the shirt off his back to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all of those whose life he touched.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Paula Wyatt; son, Brock (Jenny) Wyatt; daughter, Tera Wyatt; step-sons, John Sorensen, Joseph Sorensen, Thomas Sorensen and William Sorensen; grandchildren, Paityn Wyatt, Gavin Wyatt, Aubrie Collingham and Nevaeh Collingham; his brother, Christopher Wyatt and his sisters, Debbie McKinnon and Michelle Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Luke Wyatt and a brother in law, Larry McKinnon.
