Verdon Glenn Lukow, 94, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, NE.
Services will be Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 1 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Reverend Tamara Holtz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery with military rites by the Hastings Veterans Association. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family.

Verdon was born December 23, 1924 to Fred and Hannah (Hendricksen) Lukow in Holstein, NE. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the purple heart, later he served from October 22, 1947 to January 5, 1953 in the United States Air Force. He married Dorothy Lucille (Carl) Powell in 1980, they were married for 33 years before Dorothy’s passing on September 5, 2013. Verdon worked at the Hastings Regional Center prior to retirement. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a talented pianist.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Bonnie Scranton (Dude) of Buffalo, Wyoming and her sons, Brad Buescher and Brent Buescher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy and two brothers, Wallace L. Lukow and Bob Eugene Lukow.
