Verleen E. Lutkemeier

Hastings resident, Verleen E. Lutkemeier, 87, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard.



Services will be Friday, June, 1, 2018 at 10:30 am at Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, with Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Holstein. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family. Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.



Verleen was born May 16, 1931 to Andrew J. and Laura (Gellerman) Einspahr in Holstein, NE. She graduated in 1948 from Holstein Public Schools. She married Lloyd L. Lutkemeier at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Holstein, on October 1, 1950. Lloyd passed away September 16, 2012. Verleen was a homemaker.



She enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, gardening, cooking and reading.



She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Hastings, former member of the Holstein St. Paul Dorcas Society and the County Extension Club.



She is survived by, two daughters, Beverly A. (Andy) Anderson of Hastings, Joyce E. (Gary) Swanson of Beatrice, NE, sister, Doris Torske of Wichita, KS, granddaughter, Kalyn Wolfe of Hastings, grandson, Scott Swanson of Beatrice, granddaughter, Stacey (Matt) Peters of Adams, sister-in-law, Thelma Willie, of Colorado 4 great granddaughters, 2 great grandsons.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, one sister Orla Rousseau and one great granddaughter, Trista Swanson.
