Services will be Monday, July 5, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Harold King officiating. Burial will be at the Wanda Church Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is Saturday, July 3, 2010 from 12:00 Noon to 9:00PM and Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00PM at Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Memorials may be given to the Wanda Church Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to www.brandwilson.com. Virgil was born Nov. 1, 1925, to Jacob H. and Edith M.(Kimle)Steiner in Kenesaw. He attended school at Shilo County School. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War 11 throughout Europe. After the war Virgil returned to Kenesaw to live on the family farm. Virgil lived a humble life, farming the land and carrying for the animals he loved. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw and the American Legion. He is survived by a brother Charles of rural Kenesaw, a niece Julie, her husband Randall and their children Jacie and J.D. all of rural Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Paulina, a sister Delores Baswell and brothers Ralph and Raymond.
