Virginia Frymire, 95, of Omaha, NE died on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, at Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha. Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Grand Island at Apfel Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Pavuk officiating. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be given in Virginia’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.
Virginia Lee Frymire, the daughter of Raymond and Opal (Mapes) Keller, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on November 6, 1928. She grew up in Phillips, Nebraska and graduated from Phillips High School in 1947. On June 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Clifford Theodore Frymire in Hiawatha, Kansas.
She and her husband were self-employed and owned Frymire Heating and Air Conditioning for 50 years where she did the bookkeeping until the business was sold in 2011.
Virginia was a life-long member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island, the Platt-Duetsche, the Saddle Club, and Legion 57.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Shirley Peard of Grand Island; children: daughter, Cynthia (Dennis) Schwieger of Omaha, son, Randall (Judy) Frymire of Kansas City, MO, daughter, Jana (Kevin) Flannigan of Lawrence, KS; 8 grandchildren: Josh (Katie) Schwieger of Omaha, Melissa (Matt) Howey of Omaha, Andrea (JP) Schwieger of Denver, CO, Nathan (Marisa) Frymire of Overland Park, KS, Alison (Robert) Hall of Kansas City, MO, Taylor (Hilary) Frymire of Columbia, MO, Spencer (Ashley) Flannigan of Topeka, KS and Morgan Hess of Lincoln; 12 great-grandchildren: Henry Schwieger of Omaha, Paxton, Griffin and Rowyn Howey of Omaha, Ava, Owen and Evelyn Frymire of Overland Park, KS, Laney and Emery Hall of Kansas City, MO, Veah and Chloe Frymire of Columbia, MO, and Reagan Hess of Lincoln; and nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Frymire; brother, Darold Keller; brothers-in-law: Louis (Swede) Peard and Virgil Scherzberg; and sisters-in law: Delores Scherzberg and Virginia Riess.
