On August 9, 1980, Wanda married Michael C. Hutchinson in St. Charles, Missouri. The couple made their home in Kearney. Later moving to Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha, and Doniphan.

Wanda was a people person and others oriented. Her love and passion was for her family, community, and the body of Christ. She put her passion into action and was an integral part of many activities beyond her immediate family. She loved serving God with her gift of music: singing in choirs and cantatas, and participating in hand bell choirs. Wanda was very involved in the various communities in which she lived. She was a past president of the Literacy Council of Grand Island and was instrumental in assisting with the Nebraska State Firefighter and Purple Heart Memorials at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln. She was also very supportive of the Nebraska Sportsmens Foundation, Pheasants Forever, and Quail Forever and a member of the Red Hat Society and NAIFA. Wanda was an Executive Secretary at the Nebraska Assemblies of God District Office, State Farm Insurance, and Wyuka Cemetery and Funeral Home with the Historical Foundation.
