Hastings resident, Wayne E. Rupprecht, 80, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his home. Services will be Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Valley Cemetery near Ayr, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and up till service time in the chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Wayne was born May 22, 1929 to Arthur and Amanda (Fangmeir) Rupprecht in Deshler, NE on his grandmothers farm. He was baptized and confirmed at the Deshler Lutheran Church, Deshler, NE. He grew up and went to school in Deshler, NE. He worked at the Deshler Broom Factory during his younger years. He married Lillian F. Picha on December 10, 1948; she passed away June 15, 2009. They moved to Missouri and he worked for a broom factory there, they came back to Deshler, then they moved to Hastings in 1951. Wayne worked at the Navy Ammunition Depot. They moved to Dewitt, NE and he worked for Peterson Vise Grips, upon moving back to Hastings he worked at Hastings Industries, retiring from Westland Modular Homes. Wayne was an avid outdoors man, he loved fishing and coon hunting he also loved playing pool and cards. He is survived by 1 Daughter, Kathleen King and husband Wesley of Minden, NE, and 1 son, Robert Rupprecht of Hastings, NE, 2 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, his parents, his wife Lillian. Memorials may be given to the family.
