Wilhelmina R. Hinrikus

November 10, 1927 — December 12, 2016

Hastings resident, Wilhelmina R. Hinrikus, 89, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings due to a stroke.



Services will be Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery, Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.



In lieu of flowers, Wilhelminas wishes were for memorials may be given to the LWML Society, Concordia Cemetery or the Hastings Genealogy Society.



Wilhelmina was born November 10, 1927 to Ekko and Anna (Reiners) Dieken in Prosser, NE. She attended District #49 school, Christ Lutheran Parochial School, the Rosedale High School then graduating from Wood River in 1945. She married Max Hinrikus on October 26, 1947; Max passed away June 28, 1976. She moved to Hastings in September 1989.



Wilhelmina was a homemaker and worked a short time at the IGA in Wood River; NE. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Genealogical Society and the Lutheran Womans Missionary League.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, daughter, Katherine, 2 sisters and a brother.



She is survived by 3 sons, Jerry and wife Marcia of Salina, KS, Myron and wife Rachel and Daniel and wife Patti all of Prosser, 1 daughter, Angela and husband Gary Eckhardt of Hastings, 10 Grandchildren, James, Michael, Matthew, Adam, Shaun, Jennifer, Michelle, Mandy, Megan and Leah and 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Doratha Dieken of Kearney, and one brother, Leonard Dieken of Prosser many wonderful cousins, special great niece, Susan Franklin and special friend, Kay Sitters.
