Bill was born May 12, 1960, in Grand Island to George and Dorothy (Donnermeyer) Leiser. He grew up in rural Grand Island and attended school at District 18, District 1-R, and graduated from Northwest High School Class of 1979.
He was united in marriage to Sandy Quandt on March 28, 1981, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the family farm, where he enjoyed farming, building his own equipment, restoring antique tractors, moving dirt, planting trees, going dancing with Sandy, and raising their three children.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife of 36 years, Sandy; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Andy Dunn of Falls City; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Jared and Anna Leiser, and Dan and Keo Leiser of Grand Island; five grandchildren, Turner and Colby Dunn, Scarlett and Ruby Jo Leiser, and Harrison Leiser; and a sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Rob Horky.
Bill lived his entire life on the family farm, until recent years when he and his wife remodeled their new home on the hill. Bill enjoyed farming his whole life, where he farmed with his father, George, for 30 plus years, then being able to farm with his own wife and children as they grew older. He was always proud of his childrens accomplishments, but in his later life his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, reading them books, riding bikes, and teaching them new things.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Platt-Duetsche Society, served on the Hall County Fair Board, and District 1-R School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Scott Quandt; and a nephew, Eric Knott.
