At Our Alberding-Wilson Location, Harvard, Ne. Former Harvard resident, Wilma Lois Bieck, 91, died peacefully, Saturday (March 29, 2008) at the Pathfinder House in Fremont, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 11 AM at the Harvard United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Coates will officiate at the memorial service celebrating Wilmas fruitful life. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2008 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard; NE. Interment will be at the Harvard Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Wilma was born August 4, 1916, to Harold and Elsie (Shields) Stewart in Garnett, Kansas. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Garnett High School. Wilma pursued a teaching career. She began teaching and sharing knowledge with her students at the age of 18 in a small country school near Garnett. She later attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska. She accepted a teaching position in Harvard. Wilma also taught in the Trumbull and Inland school systems. While teaching in Harvard she met and married Kenneth G. Bieck. They were married on December 28, 1943, at Garnett, Kansas. They lived on the family farm, northeast of Harvard, until 1990 when they moved into Harvard. Wilmas passions and hobbies in life included church activities, family, traveling, and patchwork quilting. Later in life she did an exhaustive search into her familys genealogy. She was a member of the Harvard United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Order of The Eastern Star. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1995; her parents; and brother Claron of Garnett, Kansas. Survivors include her children, Connie Krull and husband Gayle of Fremont; Marilyn Bieck of Encinitas, California; William Bieck and wife Sharla of McCook; 5 grandchildren, Tim Krull and wife Erika of Kearney; Angie Arndt and husband Matt of Hampton; Ryan Bieck of Omaha; Tyler Bieck of McCook; Anthony Bieck of McCook; and 6 great grandchildren. Memorials honoring Wilma will be given to the Harvard United Methodist Church.
